The Maximilian tote is a medium sized Moroccan designed cow hide bag. Simple, practical and made of strong, beautiful vegetable tanned leather. Featuring a zip to close the main compartment and three leather slots on the inside for your phone, keys and smaller items.

Ethically handmade in Morocco using 100% premium vegetable tanned cows leather.

Our Moroccan leather is hand-dyed in small batches. Due to the artisanal nature of the veg-tanning process, each batch varies slightly in shade and tone, particularly the lighter colours. The tan variation starts its life as a light tan, and will darken with time and use. We ask that you use our pictures as a reference only.

Each skin is different, with unique markings. These beautiful markings and variations in the skin can be noticed on the lighter tones of leather (tan & vintage brown).

Bought it as a gift, it’s now mine!

In fairness, I realised when it got here it actually suits my taste, not my sister’s, whom I originally meant it for as a Christmas present. But it’s such a wonderful piece for me. And even after a week of using, it’s taking on beautiful, rich character. The smell was a bit confronting, but it’s dissipating as promised. I will learn to love it (as I foresee more purchases in my future) as a sign of authenticity and artisanal craftsmanship!
