With an old Medina that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, the city is filled with artists and musicians giving it a young, vibrant energy. Ever since I first ventured into Morocco, Dakhla has been on my list of places I had to visit. If you’ve never heard of Dahkla, you’re not alone. As with other Moroccan cities and towns off the beaten track, Dahkla wouldn’t be on your everyday tourists’ itinerary. Located deep in the Western Sahara. This magical slice of the African coast is built on a narrow peninsula about 18 hours south of Marrakech. It is a beautiful and unique place, where the barren desert of the Western Sahara meets the wild Atlantic ocean.

24 hours in my favourite place on earth, the red city that never stops. Filled with interactions and by-chance meetings that ensure every persons experience is unique. I first arrived in Marrakech in the evening as Jemaa el-Fnaa was erupting into it's nightly antics. With my backpack on and map in hand, I hopelessly tried to navigate the streets. Discovering very quickly to surrender myself to this place, a place unlike anywhere I had ever experienced before. Here is how I felt after my first 24 hours in Marrakech.
